Palm Sunday celebrated!

Why is Palm Sunday celebrated?
According to Christian tradition and according to the lunar calendar, today is celebrated Palm Sunday, seven days before Easter Sunday. What is its meaning

Each Palm Sunday, according to the Christian tradition, marks the end of Lent (the preparation before Easter) and the beginning of Holy Week, when the passion, crucifixion, death and resurrection of Christ is celebrated.

Palm Sunday - each year on a different date, since it is determined according to the lunar calendar - is concretely the day on which Christians commemorate the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem and his acclamation as the Son of God.

According to the canonical Gospels, Jesus triumphantly entered Jerusalem on a donkey in the midst of a crowd that cheered him and extended mantles, olive and palm branches while they sang and cheered: "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"; "Hosanna in the high!".

The olive and palm branches used in the celebration of Palm Sunday are a symbol of God's blessing, protection and help. The tradition indicates that they should be placed on a crucifix or religious picture to remember that it is something sacred. In addition, the liturgical color of the celebration is red, which represents the Passion of the Lord.
